Ethereal Whites for Daniel & Eliza's Micro Wedding

Writer's picture: Behind the VowsBehind the Vows

For months since the pandemic hit, Daniel and Eliza debated whether to proceed with their Bali destination wedding, until further restrictions made it impossible to do so. However, our couple was still determined to plan a wedding ceremony on that day.

Even though the ceremony was simple and witnessed only by their closest family and friends, our goal was to always create a memorable and unique wedding for the duo.

A little back story, Dan popped the million dollar question to Eliza in their own home, and we all know what the answer is! Seeing the beauty of their private residence and the wonderful memories that it held for them, we quickly rerouted to hold this intimate wedding ceremony at the beauty of their own backyard, which offered all the beloved characteristics of their outdoor wedding.

Taking into consideration their love for simplicity and minimalism, we used dominantly white as their main wedding colour, followed by a few hints of green. Let us show you how we styled their once in a lifetime event!

As D&E opted for e-invitation to be sent out to their guests, we still wanted our couple to have a physical copy of their wedding date. So we had calligrapher Claudia Rachel to design a bespoke keepsake kit made especially for our newlyweds, which features elements like a hand drawn illustration of their wedding colours.

Before we move on to the wedding dress, let's zoom in on El's morning preparation robe, beautifully entwined with a satin base and ruffles pleated sleeves! Look closely on her robe and see the fun little detail we added on the robe's sleeves and waist to showcase her playful personality.

For her wedding dress, we chose tulle as the main material as El loves the dreamy and romantic look! Underneath the tulle layer, are embroidered flowers and leaves adorned with tiny sequins. Perfect for her garden wedding!

Another part we'd love to highlight on her dress are her wedding sleeves! This off-shoulder balloon sleeves made from pleated fabric really gives a twist on the traditional a line dress. See how the dress changes from a classic look to a modern silhouette after the sleeves! Shoutout to Tiffany Liem Studio for making our vision into a reality.

El's personality is so young and vibrant, so, we instructed her hairstylist for something carefree. Soft natural waves to highlight her face, topped with a delicate white flower hairpiece from Noma.

We're loving the laid back vibes of this wedding! Joining the celebration also, the couple's two beloved Westie dogs!

Our groom fetching the bride with a bouquet made entirely from 2 different white flowers. The classic baby breath and draping orchids, wrapped with a flowy silk ribbon, while the groom's boutonniere from a single stem of orchid. Timeless combination!

We were blessed with very sunny skies and not a single cloud in sight!

Upon arrival of their home, all guests were directed to their backyard with a simple white block welcome sign, along with a printed canvas of their wedding photo.

All of the elements we used were all acrylic and white, resulting in a "light" vibe and creates the illusion of a larger space. See how we transformed their garden into a beautiful ceremony place.

Only 1 type of flower was used, the timeless baby breath. Clusters upon clusters of fluffy gypsophilla clouds were constructed for Dan & El's big day. Using what nature has to offer along with the addition of crystal clear acrylic chairs, this garden showed its true potential! Look at this minimalistic beauty!

A bird's eye view of the overall decoration from the balcony. In this case, simplicity is elegance!

Absolutely head over heels with the asymmetrical wedding arch! Made fully from baby's breath flower, it simply evokes the feeling of dreamy, and classic wedding.

Our favourite shot of the day, the first kiss as husband and wife, surrounded by ethereal and dreamy baby breath clusters!

What comes next after the ceremony for our fun loving couple? Photo op!

We're loving this smiles filled family portrait! Congratulations on finally tying the knot, Dan & El! Wishing you both a long journey filled with happiness and laughter!
