Blissful Contemporary for Ivan & Karina's Wedding

Updated: Dec 26, 2022

Remember our beautiful couple, Ivan & Karina, featured earlier? Its finally the last part of their wedding series, their Bandung wedding reception!

Throwing back to their previous two celebrations, we explored multiple concepts, all different from another, and this time we wanted to feature a more contemporary design. Karina is a fan of these minimalist designs, so she naturally agreed to what we wanted to do!

Bringing the neutral color palette, mixture of white & grey, with a combination of purple, green, orange and yellow, presenting Blissful Contemporary specially made for Ivan & Karina.

Dominantly styled in grey tones, the invitation from Hand x Pen had on a variety of different finishes to make the overall still luxurious but not too over the top. Blind embossing detail with gold foil elements filled the invitation suite, resulting in this minimalist set up.

Aside from the invitation, we also put an emphasis on the stationery design by House of Papeterie. Arch cut out element with grey florals completed the menu set up, paired with modern capsule shape for the place cards.

Starting their morning preparation at the newly built Gaia Hotel Bandung..

Karina's reception dress from Hian Tjen, a feminine and playful dress all at once! The ruffled train detail on the back made for a unique piece that was suitable to Karina's personality.

Paired with a lace ribbon hairpiece which showcased the bride's playful style but still keeping things classic.

From Bandung to Jakarta, this bouquet from Flore Bastille travelled miles to be here with our bride! The combination of Vanda orchids, Phalaenopsis orchids, grey lilac roses, and asparagus ferns tied together nicely, and polished up everything to perfection! 😍

We absolutely loved the surroundings and architecture of this hotel, which enabled us to get these outdoor shots, all caught on camera by Derai Studio and Oui In Love.

Nothing can stop them - even the rain! The entire bridal party was looking charming and dapper posing for these shots. Speaking of the bridesmaids, dark purple was chosen to make them stand out from the crowd. As for the groomsmen and groom, we opted for the black tie to achieve the maximum formal look!

Onto the reception area, held in Sudirman ballroom.

We wanted to achieve a minimalist white look, so the journey through the foyer mainly highlighted the structures of the decor.

Multiple arch structures were placed in different sides, and when combined together created this passageway of florals, while still showcasing the white arches.

Located in the spacious Sudirman ballroom, we knew we have a huge blank canvas to play with, but we had a challenge, to keep it minimalist just as our bride wants.

We combined Karina's love for garden & flowers with artsy-museum feel for her stage.

This different sized arch structure acted as a focal point in the decoration, with flower waves hugging the arches. This beautiful look was elevated with the addition of our couple's logo, nicely centered in the middle of the canvas.

Lighting plays a major part in the ambience of the decoration, where you can see how transformative it could be. Showcased above, warm white color was chosen. However later in the night, the lighting ambience would be changed to include a slight bit of color.

Bridal table setup included barely there ghost chairs for the bridal party, with an all white table covering to finish.

Can you guess what color ambience the lighting was? Yes, we added a tinge of purple, and look how it completely changed the entire venue!

This amazing lighting work by Evo Light..

The dynamic lighting setup enhanced and created a dramatic ambiance to the whole ballroom, especially to the centerpiece of the decoration!

Which lighting team do you belong to? Natural or dramatic? We are certainly a fan of both😍

Love love how everything turned out 🤩

Thank you I & K, for trusting us since day one! Such a privilege for us to be given the chance to style all of your 3 events - from Tasikmalaya's Sangjit, Bali's Wedding to Bandung's Reception. May the years ahead be filled with love and joy ❤️🥂
